On Sunday, Team Red Bull achieved its 100th victory in the history of the F1 world championship. They are the fifth team to reach this figure, after Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and Williams.
– It’s simply incredible. I never thought I would see such numbers, commented Verstappen.

The Dutchman won Saturday’s qualifying, started in Montreal from first position and did not give way to anyone even for a moment. After confirming at the start his good condition and that of the team, there was no longer any emotion in the fight for victory. Even the appearance of the safety car on the track did not give rivals much hope of catching the two-time world champion.
Verstappen claimed his 41st career victory, tying Brazilian Ayrton Senna for fifth place in the all-time standings. The record holder is Hamilton, with 103 triumphs.
This season, the Dutchman won for the sixth time in eight rounds (one of which – the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola – was canceled due to flooding). In the other two, the best was his Red Bull partner, the Mexican Sergio Perez.
The competition between the former world champions – Alonso and Hamilton – was fiercer. The Spaniard had a worse start and almost immediately lost the position to the Briton, but in the later phase of the race he managed to attack him. However, at no point did he manage to take a comfortable lead.
– I didn’t have a single lap to rest, the fight was still fierce – said Alonso.
Verstappen leads the general classification with 195 points. The second Pérez, who took sixth place in Montreal, has 126 points. The gap with the Mexican was significantly reduced by Alonso, who increased his achievements to 117 points.
