Polish volleyball players won against Canada 3-0 in the Group C match of the U21 World Championships. In the first match of this event, the Poles defeated India 3-1, and at the end of the first group stage they will face Bulgaria on Sunday. Interestingly, this was the second Poland-Canada clash played this Saturday. In the Nations League match in the Philippines, the first team also won in three sets.
The Poles started the match impressively (6:1), but their rivals quickly reduced the losses (7:5). A series of good plays from Kamil Szymendera proved crucial for the fate of the first match, after which Poland led 16:9. After Piotr Śliwka’s attack, the gap increased to ten points (21:11) and the set was closed by a smart attack from Jakub Majchrzak (25:14).

The second installment had a similar storyline. After a good opening from the Poles (7:2), the opponents tried to get into the fight and reduced their losses (14:12). However, the rest of the set was dictated by the Polish team, who had the advantage in attack and were better equipped on serve. The Canadians did not make it easy, making many mistakes. One of them finished this part of the match (25:17).
After confidently winning two sets, at the start of the third set, the story of the match against India came to my mind. The rivals took the initiative and gained a few points (7:10). The Polish volleyball players chased the result for a long time, but they got it (16:16). This time, the fate of the set was decided at the end. The Poles won four matches in 21:21. Two effective attacks from Jakub Olszewski and two errors from the opponent allowed the Polish team to win 25:21.
