Water main break in Bergen: – There is a lot of water
The Vest Police District writes on Twitter that at 02:53 they received a message that there is a lot of water flowing at the Henrik Wergelands gate in Bergen.
– Probably a broken aqueduct, they write.
Operations manager Tom Johannesen told TV 2 that it was the intersection between Henrik Wergelands Gate and Fløygaten that was hit.
– There is a lot of water flowing. Water has reportedly started entering cellars at three addresses by now, Johannesen says.
It was uncertain for some time if water was getting to several places, but it was finally established that three cellars were getting water.
– Water finds many access routes, says the director of operations.
In an update on Twitter, the police write that there are houses in Øvre Blekevei that have had water in the basement.

Weather forecasts show no sub-zero temperatures reported, but Johannesen says they are eager to see if it freezes.
– It doesn’t look like it’s currently freezing, but there’s a chance it might.
On websites The municipality of Bergen writes that some addresses in the region will be without water on Wednesday. Also, some parts of the area are closed.
– The suspicion that the road may have been mined due to the amount of water means that the Henrik Wergeland gate is closed between numbers 11 and 17 until further notice, he says.
The water main crackdown is expected to begin Wednesday morning.
The water should have been turned off at 3:40 a.m. according to operations manager Johannesen.
– When the police finished on the scene, the water had gone down considerably. The work has now been taken over by the municipality and the fire brigade.
