The traveler from Tychy was a guest of the Tychy city council session a few days ago. During the meeting, he spoke to local government officials about his achievements and plans, e.g. those on the crossing of Canada and Alaska in winter.

– In January 2024, my plan is to travel the full length of Canada via the United States. At the height of Vancouver, I want to enter Alaska and the only possible Alaskan route to get to the Arctic Ocean. No one has done it yet. I am currently preparing. I do it with my own money, without sponsors. If anyone wants to support me, you are of course welcome. While Siberia was simpler, because you were riding and driving from home, in the case of Canada, you have to cross the ocean, so the costs automatically increase. If we manage to cross Canada and Alaska, and I assume no different version, I will be the first man in the world to close the globe around the globe with a motorcycle in winter – classic, because about 3,000 are missing miles he said Marek Suslik.

He was born in Mikołów and lives in Tychy. Professionally, he sells beer. He has been riding motorcycles since the age of 9, that is to say since his parents offered him a motorcycle for his first communion. Once he got behind the wheel, he still holds it. He has a son and a daughter who also ride motorcycles.

– My experience is quite extensive when it comes to traveling around the world. You can say that there is no continent where I was not in summer. But for some time I have been interested in riding a motorcycle in the winter. As the first person in the world, I reached Yakutsk – the coldest city in the world with a temperature of minus 60 degrees Celsius, covering a distance of 11,300 km. This news went around the world. Then I registered on Wikipedia. Until then, the entire motorcycling community knew me as White Wolf. No one knew who was driving it. From that moment I had to go public, reveal my name as Marek Suslik – said the traveler.

– It should be noted that there are only 3 people in the world who broke the barrier of minus 50 degrees while riding a motorcycle – a Lithuanian, a Frenchman and me. Of which I say immodestly, I have the greatest achievements on my account – added.

– One of the many trips I took was a winter trip to Nordkapp. I decided to reach the northernmost point of Norway, circumnavigate the Baltic Sea and back down, covering over 8,000 km he called back.

– What came later was the implementation of the plan to reach Yakutsk. The temperatures I was riding in were extreme. At one point the thermometer read minus 65 degrees. Crossing the Lena River, I decided to register my next motorcycle as Lena. It was unimaginable, I then felt like someone had locked me in some kind of capsule and the only thing I was thinking about was crossing that river, and the course was 25 km, because you were going not only in its width, but also along its length. Interestingly, it is easier to get to Yakutsk in winter than in summer, since Yakutsk is on the backwaters and during the summer the roads are impassable. he said.

– After returning from Yakutsk, to my surprise, I was nominated for the most prestigious Polish travelers award – Colossi. I got two nominations in the “performance” category and in the “travel” category. As he sat as a nominee in the room, I might have expected a distinction in the “travel” category, because this 11,000 km road is not enough, after reading me as a distinguished in the “achievement” category, I actually sat for several seconds until the guy sitting next to him didn’t nudge his elbow and said: it’s you! It’s my greatest pride right now. These prizes were awarded to my greatest authorities, such as Krzysztof Wielicki and Olek Doba. To be among people of this caliber is a great achievement – He admitted.

– Two years later, another surprise – the mayor of Yakutsk sent me a letter in which he recognized my motorcycle trip to Yakutsk as the most extreme trip in the world. They also credited me as the first person to get there on a motorbike. It was abstract for them. At first they couldn’t believe someone was able to do it, so it took them 2 years to check it out – reminded Mr. Suslik.
