The U21 Volleyball World Championship in Bahrain is entering its decisive phase. The Polish national team failed to qualify for the medal zone and will play for places 5-8. In the first phase of the U21 World Cup, Polish volleyball players played in group C. They started the competition with victories over India (3:1) and Canada (3:0). In the last match, they lost after a fierce 2-3 game against Bulgaria, but they were already guaranteed promotion to the top eight. The rivalry in the second group stage of the tournament in Bahrain did not go as planned for the white and red team. Severe 3-0 defeats against Iran and Bulgaria kept them from reaching the medal zone; they beat Thailand 3-0 as a consolation.

The Belgians in the first part of the tournament competed in Group D, where they beat the Czech Republic 3-0, the United States 3-1 and lost 2-3 to Argentina. In the second group stage, they lost all their matches – 1:3 against Brazil, 2:3 against Argentina and 2:3 against Italy.
