Another crewed mission to the International Space Station (ISS) launched on Saturday from NASA’s Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States; The project, dubbed Crew-7, is a joint NASA and SpaceX initiative, founded by billionaire Elon Musk, AP reported.
The crew of Crew-7 includes four astronauts: American Jasmin Moghbeli from NASA, Andreas Mogensen from Denmark, Satoshi Furukawa from Japan and Konstantin Borisov from Russia. The mission is scheduled to arrive at the International Space Station on Sunday and is expected to rotate four participants from a previous such venture who have been on the ISS since March.
The mission’s launch was delayed by a day due to additional reviews of the capsule’s life support system data, the AP reported.
As added, the completely different life experiences of the Crew-7 crew members deserve attention. Moghbeli’s parents fled Iran during the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The astronaut previously served in the United States Marine Corps and fought in, among other places, Afghanistan, where she flew attack helicopters . Mogensen worked on oil rigs off the coast of West Africa, Furukawa was a surgeon for 10 years, and Borisov runs a diving school and is a referee in the sport.
Crew-7 is SpaceX’s seventh manned mission and is intended to rotate ISS personnel. The first astronauts were sent into orbit by SpaceX in May 2020.
The ISS has been in service for more than 20 years and is operated by a consortium including the United States, Russia, Canada, Japan and 11 European countries. (PORRIDGE)
