Only the host country, France, is guaranteed to participate in the Games. The remaining top 24 FIVB ranked teams will be divided into three pools of eight teams each. The top two teams from each pool will qualify for the Olympics.
Teams that don’t get a bye to qualifying tournaments will be able to fight for the remaining five spots through the Nations League fight.
