The Hollywood star and the Norwegian ice hockey club Frisk Asker are “going back”.
He recently walked into a restaurant in his hometown of New Hampshire wearing a brand new Frisk Asker jersey.
And that with “Sandler 10” on the back.
– It’s cool that he actually used it. It’s fun in itself, the club’s sporting director Vidar Wold tells TV 2.
Childhood friend
Sandler’s ties to Frisk Asker were established in the late 90s. Then childhood friend Kyle McDonough (56) signed for the club.
The American is one of the Norwegian hockey club’s all-time goalscorers.
When Frisk won the Norwegian championship in 2002, McDonough arranged for a photo of Sandler in the team uniform.
The photo hung in the closet and took pride of place until Frisk moved into a new living room in January.

– This summer, my brother and I were on vacation with Kyle McDonough and his family. During the summer, we joked that we needed a new image and a new costume for Adam Sandler, explains sporting director Vidar Wold.
When he and his brother returned home, the kits for the 22/23 season were ready.
Wold had two jerseys printed with the number ten. One for McDonough, one for Sandler.
The club hero announced that he wanted to make something funny out of it.
– And that’s how Kyle met Adam Sandler in their hometown of Manchester near Boston, says Wold.

But this Sandler was actually going to use the costume, they might not have imagined in Asker.
– This video is completely random and posted by people who are in a restaurant and starstruck. The fact that he wears a Frisk costume is not our responsibility, he laughs.
Film role
Have you seen “Happy Gilmore”? The film is about a hockey player who is better on the golf course than on the ice and is based on McDonough as previously mentioned by The messenger.

It’s supposed to be from a time when Friends played golf with Sandler’s dad.
– My dad used to say, “That boy is amazing, he’s got a real hockey wrist,” Sandler said, according to Budstikka.
The hero of the club as a guest
Later this month, Frisk will have a great visit. On November 24, Kyle McDonough will be at Askerhallen when the team take on Lillehammer, Vidar Wold can reveal.
Then there’s the question of whether Adam Sandler will ever appear at a Frisk match.
– Our friendship is with Kyle. We have no relationship with Adam Sandler, underlines the sports manager.
– But it would have been a fantastic pleasure if it had happened once. Only Kyle can really answer that. You can ask him when he will be here on November 24. You never know, but he probably won’t be coming anytime soon, Wold continues.
According to him, this isn’t the first time Sandler has expressed his love for Frisk in public. The movie star also reportedly pointed the finger at the club when, as a guest on ‘Hockey Night In Canada’, he was asked what his favorite team was.
– This team is Frisk Asker, and no one has heard of Frisk Asker. But it was his favorite team because his best friend played there, Wold said.
At the moment, Sandler doesn’t have much to cheer about.
Frisk is going through a tough time with three straight losses. The worst was probably the 2-9 loss to Storhamar, which Erik Follestad called embarrassing.
