Olav (13) died after a swimming accident

Emergency services responded to a swimming accident on Byåsen in Trondheim on Wednesday.

A 13-year-old boy was sent to St. Olav’s Hospital and died Thursday night, reports say NRK.

The deceased was 13-year-old Olav Sellesbakk. This is confirmed by Knut Gravis in crime monitoring in the NRK police. The parents consented to the release of the name.

Fire service divers rescued the young boy from the water, and he received life-saving first aid at the scene following the incident on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened at Kyvannet in Byåsen in Trondheim, which is a heavily used swimming and outdoor area.
