Allegations that the NHL is considering games in Norway

In the “32 Thoughts” podcast, journalist Elliotte Friedman says NHL management is considering adding games to the “Global Series” in the future.

– I hear that Norway is a possibility in the future, he said.

The World Series is the NHL’s name for counting regular season games played outside of North America. This is part of the NHL’s efforts to increase the league’s popularity internationally.

“Where does Mats Zuccarello live? Why?” asks fellow podcaster Jeff Marek.

– I don’t know. Someone told me that this week. Maybe it’s on the radar. I didn’t think of Minnesota (Zuccarello’s team, editor’s note), but it makes sense, Friedman replies.

TV 2 has sent a request to NHL Assistant Manager Bill Daly, but has yet to receive a comment from the official NHL team.

However, the undersigned reporter spoke with Daly during the NHL Draft four years ago, as a reporter for Nitten.nothen Daly’s response was that Norway might be relevant in the future.

The NHL season opens this week with “Global Series” games in Europe, with two games in the Czech Republic between the Nashville Predators and the San Jose Sharks on October 7-8.

This season’s “Global Series” also includes games between the Colorado Avalanche and the Columbus Blue Jackets in Finland on November 4-5.

The regular season regular schedule begins on October 11. Mats Zuccarello (35) and the Minnesota Wild open the season with a game against the Norwegian’s former team, the New York Rangers, on the night of October 14, Norwegian time.
