Three Polish runners in the 800 meters, Angelika Sarna, Margarita Koczanowa and Anna Wielgosz, did not make it through the qualifying rounds over this distance at the World Championships in Athletics in Budapest. The Poles have taken quite distant places in their races.

She achieved the best result among the representatives of Poland in the qualifying round of the 800 meters Angelique Sarna. The 25-year-old took sixth place in the first race (at 10:05), reaching the finish line in 2:01.78. This gave him sixth place, but did not secure promotion to the semi-finals.
The other Polish woman Margarita Kochanova participated in the third qualifying race, which started at 10:13 a.m. The Belarusian, who has represented Poland since November 2021, failed to win promotion – she took 8th place with a time of 2:03.23.
The third from Poland, Anna Wielgosz competed in the final and eighth qualifying race, which started at 10:53 a.m. The representative of our country will certainly not be satisfied with her performance either – she set a time of 2:03.61 and took eighth place.
