The Poles started the match successfully, they led 6:2, but their rivals quickly made up for their defeat (8:8). In the middle of the set, it was the Canadian team who took the initiative (12:16, 16:20). The Poles gave chase, won several actions and made contact (20:21). However, the end belonged to the Canadians. Alexa Gray played the main role and made several important actions, including the one that ended the set (20:25).

In the second part, after a balanced start, the Poles took the advantage. They started to build it with Magdalena Jurczyk’s service ace (10:8) and then dominated on the court (17:10). This time, the Canadian volleyball players had to chase the result and laboriously make up for their defeat (19:16). In the end, they made contact (22:21), but the white and red team defended their advantage. Magdalena Stysiak closed the set with a powerful attack (25:23).

The Polish volleyball players started the third set with a false start (0:6). The play of both teams in this match was very unstable. The Poles managed to make contact (9:10), and later, after Olivia Różański’s service ace and two blocks of points, they had a two-point advantage (14:12). However, they were unable to maintain it, encountering problems receiving and attacking. The Canadians regained the initiative (16:18) and finally headed with confidence towards victory. Vicky Savard established the score at 20:25 thanks to an efficient attack.

At the start of the fourth game we saw a balanced match, but from 7:7 Canada started to take the lead (9:13). The Poles did not give up, they made up for their losses and at the end of the set both teams entered with the score of 20:20. This time, the key actions fell to the Polish national team. Stysiak won the set ball (24:23), Hilary Howe responded in the next action, but Martyna Czyrniańska scored the missing point (25:23).

The final victory gave the Poles a boost and they started the tie-break promisingly (6:2). In the following actions they retained the advantage, but Gray’s excellent performance allowed the opponents to catch up with the defeat in the end (12:12). However, the last two words belonged to Czyrniańska, who first won the match ball with an effective attack and then finished the competition with a service ace (15:13).
