550,000 customers will find TV 2 channels by 3 p.m. Friday.
– We are pleased to have been able to reach a long-term agreement that both preserves customers’ freedom of choice and provides them with access to an attractive news and entertainment offering, says Tor Morten Osmundsen, Managing Director from Altibox.
TV 2 Director Olav T. Sandnes apologizes to all viewers who were left without the channels.
– The new agreement is forward-looking and will help secure the basis for a continued broad offering of Norwegian entertainment, theatre, sports and above all news journalism, he says.
Get the top three TV channels 2
Customers with Altibox televisions no longer have access to TV 2 content since April 1. During this period, customers were rewarded with a reduction in NOK or extra points for choosing alternative content.
A central dispute in the negotiations was whether Altibox should offer all of TV 2’s channels, or just the main ones.
The new deal means that TV 2’s biggest channels, TV 2 Direkte, TV 2 Nyheter and TV 2 Zebra, will be part of the fixed content as before, while the remaining TV 2 content can be selected and included in the TV package. as desired and necessary.
Streaming Services
The TV 2 Play based streaming service will also be available eventually as part of Altibox.
– We make sure viewers have easy access to our content, whether they’re streaming or watching linear TV. Many young viewers use streaming services more than linear TV, and on TV 2 Play they get both entertainment, sports and news. The deal with Altibox therefore supports our mission as a public broadcaster in a new era, says Sandnes.
