The group stage of the Ice Hockey World Championships ended on Tuesday. With the final game settled, the quarter-final pairings were determined. The emotions will not fail!
The top four teams from Groups A and B each qualified for the quarter-finals. In Tampere, teams from the United States, Sweden, Finland and Germany qualified. In Riga, however, teams from Switzerland, Canada, Latvia and the Czech Republic did their best.
We already know the quarter-final pairings. The winners of Group A, the Americans, will face the Czech Republic. On the other hand, the Swiss, winners of the struggles in group B, will face Germany.
The two games against the co-organizers promise to be exciting. The real blow will take place in Tampere, where the Finns will face the Canadians. For their part, in Riga, the brave Latvians will want to keep the Swedes.
All quarter-finals will be played on Thursday (May 25). Their winners will compete for medals at this year’s world championships in the Nokia Arena in Tampere. The semi-finals (Saturday May 27) and the final and match for third place (Sunday May 28) will take place here.

USA-Czech Republic, Nokia Arena Tampere, 7:00 p.m. 3:20 p.m.
Switzerland – Germany, Arena Riga in Riga, at 15:20
Canada-Finland, Nokia Arena in Tampere, 7:00 p.m. 7:20 p.m.
Sweden-Latvia, Arena Riga in Riga, at 7:20 p.m.
