El. World Cup 2022: Canada close to promotion after beating Mexico

Kandy’s players won 2-1 against Mexico and climbed to the top of the 2022 World Cup qualifying table in the CONCACAF zone. Cyle Larin scored both goals for the hosts, and Hector Herrera scored the honorable goal for the losers.

Canada remains undefeated and leads the league table in the elimination phase by 16 points.

Second place, one point behind, is occupied by the American team, which in Kingston drew 1-1 with Jamaica.
