The Americans beat France undefeated in a blockbuster Nations League game in Anaheim. The reigning Olympic champions are still not sure of accessing the final tournament of this competition.

Before the competition with the USA, the Habs were outside the top eight of the Nations League and they needed to win in Anaheim to get closer to promotion in the final round. The meeting started badly for them, because after a fierce fight they lost the first set at 11:25 p.m.

In the second set, the lead scales tilted almost every moment. Andrea Giani’s players managed two set pieces but in the advantage play the hosts finally regained the lead.

The third set is almost a copy of the second. The difference was that the French had to defend the setbola and unlike the opponent, it ended in failure. Much to the delight of the home fans, the Americans finished the match in three sets and moved up to second place in the Nations League. For their part, the Olympic champions, wanting to think of the final tournament, must count on the defeat of the Netherlands against Slovenia and defeat Germany in their last match.

France lost this game mainly due to a large number of own-side errors, including 29 in total, against 21 rivals. Aaron Russell scored the most points in the game with 14.

In the first match of the day in Pasay City, Canada defeated China in four sets.
