Here is Iga Świątek’s place in the WTA rankings

The latest WTA rankings were released on Monday. There have been several changes within the world elite. What is the situation of Iga Świątek and the other Polish representatives?

Last week, Iga Świątek did not participate in any main series events. The 22-year-old from Raszyn also decided to change her departure plans and withdrew from the WTA 1000 competition in Guadalajara (more information here). The Pole’s next stop will be Asia and the tournaments in Tokyo and Beijing.

Świątek’s situation in the WTA rankings has not changed. Our tennis player remains the second best racket in the world since the end of the 2023 US Open. She is exactly 1,071 points behind Aryna Sabalenka, the best in the world from Belarus. The Pole is also 2,030 points ahead of the American Coco Gauff, third on the podium.

There have been several changes within the elite. The American Jessica Pegula rose to fourth place, at the expense of the Kazakh Jelena Rybakina. Barbora Krejcikova returned to the Top 10 after winning the WTA 500 in San Diego. After his victory in California, the Czech moved from 13th to 10th place. A small jump, from 20th to 18th position, was made by the Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia. In turn, the American Ashlyn Krueger, 19, who won the Osaka event without losing a set, entered the top “100” and is currently 73rd.

The second member of the Whites and Reds, Magda Linette, played in San Diego without success. On Monday, the Poznań player moved from 24th to 27th place, and she will try to improve her results this week in Guangzhou. Magdalena Fręch improved her personal best. The player from Łódź passed the qualifying rounds for the event in San Diego, but did not win a single fight in the main draw. Despite this, he moved from 67th to 66th position.

Katarzyna Kawa rose to 246th place after participating in the WTA challenger in Ljubljana. Weronika Falkowska remains the 303rd racket in the world. Maja Chwalińska (WTA 393) returned to the Top 400 and added points for the ITF World Tennis Tour tournament in Frydek Mistek, Czech Republic. Urszula Radwańska (WTA 421) and Martyna Kubka (WTA 483) remained in the fifth hundred.

There has been a change in the leading position in the doubles rankings. After just a week, the Czech Katerina Siniakova, who won the tournament in San Diego with Barbora Krejcikova, took the lead again. Gauff and Pegula dropped to second place. As for the Polish women, the best ranked in this ranking is Linette (53rd place). There are five Whites and Reds left in the Top 100.
