On Friday evening, Alexander shared Instagram Story Feature that a local mental health leader sent him the following message:

“Find yourself a lady. Men who love men are abominable. »

“Sad that the manager and contact person for mental health actively searched for me and found my number in order to take advantage of the time to express his opinion on my attitude,” writes the 35-year-old and continues:

“And it’s sad that those who may have mental difficulties due to their sexual orientation seek and get help from people with such homophobic attitudes.”

Mental Health was in contact with Harlem on Friday.

– These are not the values ​​that mental health represents. As an organization we are active in Pride, and this incident also hits me personally as a queer person, national mental health leader Ole Marius Minde Johnsen tells Blikk.

– The person concerned has now resigned from the organization. What the person did violated our ethical guidelines and the incident will now be handled within the organization. We take this very seriously, says Minde Johnsen.

After the conversation with Mental Health, Harlem posted an update on Instagram, where he described it as a “very nice conversation”:

“They were very sorry for the situation that happened today and should address it,” he wrote and added:

“These are not values ​​that mental health stands for, and I also hope that they do not negatively impact what I have shared today. There is only one person who should suffer the consequences.”
