The defending champions Canadians defeated the Swedes 3-0 in the second round of Group A of the 2023 Davis Cup finals. On Thursday, the Czechs also won their second match and the Americans lost by sensational manner against the Dutch.

Two wins in two matches and no matches lost. Canada got off to a brilliant start in the 2023 Davis Cup finals. In the second round of the Group A competition, the defending champions defeated the Swedes 3-0, for whom it was their second defeat in the tournament.

The Canadian singles team won – Vasek Pospisil won 7-6 (5), 5-7, 6-2 against Leo Borg, and Gabriel Diallo beat Elias Ymer 6-4, 6-3. At the end of the competition, Alexis Galarneau and Pospisil won a point in doubles by beating Filip Bergevi/André Goransson.

The second victory in the 3-0 ratio was also won by the Czech national team participating in Group C, which defeated South Korea on Thursday. Australia won 2-1 against France on a power play in Group B. The match started better for the Tricolor team, as Adrian Mannarino beat Max Purcell. However, the next two points were won by tennis players from the Antipodes – Alex de Minaur was better than Ugo Humbert, and in doubles Matthew Ebden and Purcell beat Nicolas Mahut and Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
