Politics, Curiosities/Celebrity | These are present at the Queen’s funeral – and they don’t come

Around 500 heads of state and heads of government are expected to attend the British monarch’s funeral on Monday.

The guest list includes the Scandinavian royal family: King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway, King Carl Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Margrethe of Denmark.

Just like Prince Albert of Monaco, King Philippe of Belgium and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. Also, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain arrive.

Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan also arrive.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was invited, which drew criticism from human rights groups. On Sunday, we learned that he would not come, but Saudi Arabia will probably be represented by another prince.

Several important heads of government are also coming, including US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The presidents of Israel, South Korea, Italy and Germany will attend. The Prime Ministers of Ireland, Australia and New Zealand must also do so.

Olena, wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, is expected to attend.

However, some heads of state are not on the guest list, including the leaders of Iran, Nicaragua and North Korea. Russia and Belarus should not come as a result of the war in Ukraine either.

Moreover, the leaders of Myanmar, Syria, Venezuela or Afghanistan were not invited.
