Culture and entertainment: The figure is taken from the Christmas survey of payment and shopping solution Klarna. According to the survey, 17% plan to wear the sweater as part of this year’s Christmas celebrations. The survey also shows that 47% love ugly Christmas sweaters, also often called ugly Christmas sweaters; this is a 12% increase over last year.
– For more and more Norwegians, it has clearly become a way to get a very good Christmas atmosphere, says Klarna Norway Marketing Director Thomas Elvestad.
The survey was conducted in 17 Western countries and shows that Christmas jumpers are clearly the most popular in Ireland (58% positive), followed by Canada (55%). Ugly Christmas sweaters are least popular among Finns and Germans, where only 34% and 36% like them.
In Norway, 47% say they like sweaters – and there are more women (55%) than men who are positive. The 18 to 25 age group is also overrepresented. Here, 72% say they like the “new” Christmas tradition.
– The Christmas sweater should not only be as tasteless as possible. It should also say something about who you are – preferably with humor. Even if we wear it with irony, we think deep down that it’s rather nice to go dressed in a flashy sweater with funny patterns, says Emilia Simons, marketing coordinator at Partyking.
