Biden: – Zelenskyj made a promise to the United States

US President Joe Biden addresses the press on the final day of G7 meetings in Hiroshima, Japan.

– We are united in our relations with China. We don’t want distance, Biden says.

In his speech, the president made it clear that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had made a firm promise to the United States.

– I received a clear assurance from Zelenskyj that they will not use the plane to fly on the geographical territory of Russia, but wherever there are Russian forces on the territory of Ukraine, they will be able to do so, a Biden said.

The Ukrainian president says he is confident that kyiv will receive deliveries of F-16 planes from the West to protect the country against Russian aggression.

Several media recently reported that the United States had already agreed to allow its allies to deliver their F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, without any official confirmation of this.

Speaking at the same time as Biden, Zelenskyj took the opportunity to assure everyone that Bakhmut is not fully occupied by Russian forces.

– Today they are performing a very important task, today they are in Bakhmut. I cannot say in which places they stay. But that means Bakhmut was not conquered by the Russian Federation today, Zelenskyy says of Ukrainian soldiers in the area.

On Sunday, there was total confusion after an interview with Zelenskyj, where he was asked two conflicting questions at the same time – and answered one of them.

When asked if he believed Bakhmut was still in Ukrainian hands, or if Russian forces had taken control of the town, he replied:

– I do not believe.
