Tuesday will be played the next matches of the first round of the women’s and men’s singles of the Grand Slam of the US Open 2023. The competition in New York will include, among others: Hubert Hurkacz. There will be no shortage of stars in the main arenas.

As part of the 2023 US Open, Hubert Hurkacz was seeded number 17. The 26-year-old Wrocław’s first opponent will be Marc-Andrea Huesler. The Swiss is currently ranked 97th in the ATP rankings, so he is ranked exactly 80 places lower than the Pole. On Monday, the two men will meet for the first time on a professional circuit.

Hurkacz’s duel with Huesler will be played as the third in order from 5:00 p.m., our 10 hour on the pitch. Before our representative and his rival join the competition, there will be two more matches. Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor and Frenchman Arthur Fils will face off first, followed by Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot and Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko. It is for this reason that “Hubi” will enter the field around 22. Live text coverage of his match on the WP SportoweFakty portal.

The biggest stars will traditionally perform in the main arenas. They will play at Arthur Ashe Stadium at 6:00 p.m. CET: Russian Daniil Medvedev and Hungarian Attila Balazs. After them, Italy’s Camila Giorgi and one of the hosts’ favourites, American Jessica Pegula, seeded third, will meet.

In the evening (from 1:00 p.m.), Belgian Greet Minnen and American Venus Williams will face off. Originally, the former WTA leader’s rival was supposed to be Spaniard Paula Badosa, but she quit (more info here). At the end of the day at the Arthur Ashe stadium, Carlos Alcaraz will fight to defend the championship. The first opponent for the top-seeded Spaniard will be Germany’s Dominik Koepfer.

They will leave at the Louis Armstrong Stadium at 5:00 p.m. Polish time: Tunisian Ons Jabeur (last year’s finalist) and Colombian Camila Osorio. Next come the Dutch Arantxa Rus and the American Madison Keys, as well as the Argentinian Facundo Diaz Acosta and the American John Isner, who is ending his career after the US Open 2023. In the evening session (after 1:00 p.m.) , the German Yannick Hanfmann and the Italian Jannik Sinner will face each other, as well as the Belgian Maryna Zaniewska and the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka.

In total, organizers have scheduled 32 matches for Tuesday, from the bottom half of women’s singles to the top half of men’s singles. Emotions will certainly not be lacking.
