The Vestfold Intermunicipal Fire Service (VIB) put out a fire in a caravan and carousel on the Tønsberg exhibition grounds on Thursday evening.
– The caravan turned out to be a semi-trailer for a train of wagons, belonging to a traveling funfair, explains the fire brigade on Twitter.
The semi-trailer that burned was a sales stand on the side facing the fairground area, while at the rear was an entrance to five different accommodations for employees.
– When we arrived, those who slept there had fortunately been evacuated, and there was no one inside. There was a strong fire in the trailer and there was a risk of it spreading, says fire chief Rune Loraas.
No one was hurt. The semi-trailer, on the other hand, was completely destroyed.
Firefighters extinguished the fire relatively quickly, and at the same time prevented it from spreading to a similar trailer on the side where it burned the most.
– There was also smoke coming from the roof of a track for a radio-controlled car, but it stopped when we were able to dampen the radiant heat from the burning car, says fire chief Loraas.
Firefighters were notified of the blaze at 1:24 a.m. last night.
