Folloban closed due to water coming from the roof: – The entire installation must be waterproof
The case is updated
The Folloban is closed until 12 p.m. Friday at the earliest, reports Bane Nor on its website.
– The Blix tunnel between Oslo S and Ski is closed due to power issues, the update says.
The Folloban line was also closed on Monday when 70 passengers were trapped on the train in the tunnel. It happened after a catenary was demolished.
Bane Nor closed the tunnel to investigate the water that leaked from the roof of the tunnel. It was this water that caused a cable to break on Monday, press contact Olav Nordli told Bane Nor.
– It has now been decided to carry out an inspection of the entire Blixtunnel installation. We will seal the entire facility to ensure there is no risk of further demolition, Nordli says.
He says Bane Nor decided to close the track with immediate effect on Thursday when the causal relationship was clarified.
– Was it urgent to have the problem investigated?
– This is simply because we prioritize safety and want to ensure that there is no increased risk of other trains being blocked.
– Could this end up being a long-term closure?
– It’s completely impossible to say. It all depends on whether we win something when we control the cap, so it will only be speculation. First, we will check.
According to Nordli, there isn’t much water dripping from the roof, but if it hits the right places it can weaken points in the tunnel, causing hangers or cables in the roof to weaken.
