The former world record holder in show jumping became a father for the third time

This is how the Instagram post begins on Friday morning. Bjørn Einar Romøren learned in the summer of 2019 that he had cancer. The back pain he suffered from for a long time was caused by a tumor.
After several chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, he was finally cured of the cancer. But it had a downside, which was that he became sterile, he says Se og Hør earlier this year.
He and his wife Martine Remsøy Romøren therefore decided to freeze sperm.
– There are often late sequelae when you have to go through chemotherapy. Now we are delighted that it is possible to expand the family after such a tour that we had to go through with me, writes Romøren again.
He set a world record with a jump of 239 meters in 2005 from the legendary hill of Planica in Slovenia. He also has several Olympic and World Cup medals in team competitions.
Romøren was part of the NRK “Master of Masters” program in 2022. There he both impressed and moved many with his impressive performances soon after cancer treatments.
