Health centers in Oslo will receive more money and will be reorganized

Oslo City Council warns it will clean up the municipality’s health center. More money for support staff and a major reorganization to NOK 60 million is the plan.
As a first step, an additional allocation of NOK 17 million is to be made permanent. This can be used to hire catering hosts and service staff like laundry staff, writes NRK.
Added to this is a NOK 60 million reorganization which, among other things, will help recruit enough staff for the four health centres. In total, health adviser Marthe Scharning Lund (Ap) estimate is that health centers will be able to employ up to 80 new full-time workers.
Health centers will also specialize more in individual diseases, reception teams will be reinforced, two health centers will be staffed with increased evening staff and new technologies will be used, writes post office.
In recent months, the Oslo City Council has had to face strong criticism regarding the conditions for caring for the elderly. In a number of cases, multiple media outlets have reported on reprehensible conditions and gross negligence in health centers.
