The Lithuanian army suspects that the international military exercise Iron Wolf 2023-1 is intended to prepare soldiers and medics for war in Ukraine.

As the army was informed on Friday, misinformation began to spread on May 22, when an article was published on The Duran website in English What is happening under cover of military exercises in Lithuania. The article considers that Lithuania, under the guise of exercises, prepares its soldiers and doctors to participate in military operations abroad.

He (the author of the BNS article) also assumes that the Lithuanian contingent is preparing to participate in an operation on the territory of Ukraine and finds that invitations are sent to Lithuanian citizens to serve as doctors and are ready to serve overseas. The article also states that learning Polish, Russian or Ukrainian is an advantage for doctors, according to the report.

The English site Daily Kos and the Russian site Karin-politin ovarlaga also spread misinformation about him.

Already here it is stated that Lithuania is preparing its soldiers for direct military operations in Ukraine under the guise of training, and Lithuanian doctors are ready to meet many Lithuanians in the field, the announcement says.

The same information was later published on the Lithuanian websites Ldiena and 20min.

According to the report, the nuts of disinformation are complemented by a bogus circular from the Ministry of Health, which contains a carefully edited advertisement inviting service in the ranks of military doctors in Poland and Lublin. The quality of the forged wheel was poor, it was barely legible and the recipient had no address on the wheel.

In the absence of such a circle, the deputy health minister, who allegedly engaged in the work of health specialists, called the army on May 15.

According to the military medical representative of the army, similar job advertisement texts, but without any of the now falsified details, were published on the Lithuanian government website in 2022.

Together with them, we aim to attract military doctors to the Lithuanian army. It is possible that malicious people copied the texts of this site and modified them to create disinformation messages, according to the representatives of the army.

According to the report, the military medical service of the Lithuanian Armed Forces never applied for a paramedic position in Lublin, Poland or other foreign countries, nor did the advertisements indicate the obligation to learn foreign languages.

According to the army, the fact that citizens of Lithuania and other countries living in Lithuania are invited to participate in the international mission as specialists in military medical service, although only citizens of this country can serve in the army Lithuanian.

He reminded the Lithuanian military that misleading information is intentionally disseminated to make Lithuanian citizens mistrust the decisions of political and military leaders, to downplay the need for Lithuania’s membership in NATO and the EU , to promote discontent with their country, to manipulate historical facts, to develop a one-sided interpretation of facts that do not correspond to reality.

In the international military exercise Iron Wolf 2023-1, about 3,500 soldiers and 600 units of military equipment from Lithuania and eleven other NATO countries Belgium, Great Britain, United States, Canada, Croatia, Poland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Germany participated. .

During the exercise, a NATO Forward Battle Group was deployed to Lithuania and the Vaidotas Pstinink Battalion of the Lithuanian Army was trained to properly conduct offensive and defensive operations using the force-to-force method.
